New terminal is designed very poorly. The check-in area is cramped and you are forced to go to the next floor to the security check. The escalator and lift are in a far corner and then you have to go all the way back across the whole airport. I'm not even going to start on the arrivals and baggage claim area.

Horrible place, i don't understand, how hideos that airport can be after reconstruction, also i had a flight U6 609 to Moscow 7.1.20, my luggage was opened and all valuables was stolen.

Travelled in August 19. If you are foreign in Russia do not travel to chelyabinsk thru this place. Horrible! Staff is rude ! Such a shame!
