A very unusual monument to the leader of the world proletariat. And installed on the site of the temple exploded in the 30s. For the construction of the monument on May 15, 1925, a district competition was announced for its best project. First place and a prize of 200 rubles were awarded to Aleksey Ivanovich Frolov, a drawing teacher of the school № 1, for a composition entitled “Lenin Lives in the Testaments”. The sculpture of the leader was cast by workers of the Leningrad factory "Krasny Vyborzhets" according to the model of V.V. Kozlov. The finishing work was performed by students of the Leningrad Art and Industrial Technical School. November 7, 1925, on the day of the eighth anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, a solemn opening ceremony of the monument took place.
