Omsk District Museum of Visual Arts

Even though the name of museum is Vrubel, there were no work of him presented in the museum. It's a small museum, with mostly copy of masterpieces, and some original work of Omsk artists.

I wanted to look at the Hermitage - Siberia from the inside. The building has been well restored, spacious rooms are waiting for the interior "filling". And today an exhibition of Soviet artists of the 30-50s of the twentieth century "City of the Sun" has opened. Painting is so-so, for an amateur. Socialist realism in hypertrophied terms. They are waiting for a new exhibition in early December, maybe it will be more interesting.

With pleasure I visited two art exhibitions with my wife. A discovery for me was the exhibition of our Omsk artist - Kondraty Belov to the 120th anniversary of Dr. , collected pictures from different museums, which next time, probably, will not happen soon. Landscapes amaze with the beauty and grandeur of nature. The sky, the clouds are written in such a way that they shine with a mother-of-pearl tint where they are illuminated by the sun. You look close - white-gray paint strokes. The pictures are well lit, at such an angle that they do not glare. The interiors are austere and sophisticated. Friendly caretakers, willingly answer any questions. The cost of tickets for pupils, students, pensioners has been significantly reduced.

The Hermitage-Siberia Center opened in November 2019. as a satellite of the large Hermitage. The first large-scale exhibition from the State Hermitage collection "Gripping the Hilt of a Sword". Now the museum is closed, only the museum shop has opened. Museum souvenirs and accessories can be purchased, as well as a complete exhibition catalog. A great gift for real men!

New Museum Center. Temporary Hermitage exhibitions occupy half of the 4th floor. There is a school office and other interactive activities for children. Most of the landings are occupied by the expositions of the Vrubel Museum.
