Memorial "Pamyati Bortsov Revolyutsii"

Memorial "In Memory of the Fighters of the Revolution" is located in the center of Omsk, near the stop "Lenin Square". The monuments that make up this complex are connected with the events that took place in our city in 1918-1919. On the night of November 12, 1919, several dozen political prisoners of Omsk prison were brutally murdered in the Zagorodnaya Grove by White Guards. After the entry of the Red Army into Omsk, a funeral was held in the square near the House of the Republic. Later, a monument appeared on the site of the Brotherhood grave of 120 political prisoners. They opened the monument in 1923 in memory of the liberation of the city from the army of Kolchak. On the monument depicts a woman with the banner of the Paris Commune, with her left hand supporting the slain man. Next to the monument is the Eternal Flame. Sculptor NN Vinogradov. In Soviet times, near the Eternal Flame, the guard of honor, the Pioneer and Komsomol guard, was guarded. Finally, the Memorial Square "In Memory of the Fighters of the Revolution" was formed in 1966 - 1967. The garden was landscaped. In 1987, restoration work was carried out. In the part of the memorial square sculptural portraits of eminent figures of the revolutionary movement in Siberia were established.
