One of three churches which "survived" the Soviet era in this city. Despite some damage, it was largely preserved and able to be refurbished. Even the external frescoes, after bring being whitewashed, were a letter to be restored. Inside unusually plain for a Russian Orthodox church and lovely in its simplicity. Note, ladies should wear a scarf to cover their heads when entering the prayer area at the top of the stairs (scarves are available to use)

If I need to make a list about churchs in Irkutsk, this would be the second one. 1. Kazan Church ofcourse.

Beautiful church all in white, inside is quite strange you need to get to the first floor to pry. Otherwise we have access to the last floor where you have magnificent view on all the city !! Check out the pictures : beautiful isn't it ?
