The original wooden church, which was a regimental church of the Yelets regiment, was built in 1714. In 1780–1783 a stone temple was built, and on February 6, 1786 it was consecrated. In 1859, rebuilt in the Russian style. In the 1930s, the church was closed. Demolished upper tiers of the bell tower and octagon domed. In the summer of 1944, services were resumed. During the restoration work, a new bell tower and dome were built on another project.
