Khram Useknoveniya Glavy Ioanna Predtechi

The old church was built in 1787. From the 1930s to the 1990s, it was closed, and there was a warehouse for chemicals. At the moment, restoration is underway, but services are already underway.

The church was well preserved on its own, even though it was partially destroyed, rebuilt and rebuilt many times, and restoration work continues to this day. Originally built, as legend has it, on the advice of Peter 1, who sometimes visited these places, because the construction of the fleet, which he actually controlled, began from here. Locals say that the church utensils donated by Peter 1 were also kept in the church, but over time, everyone plundered. And, in principle, it was plundered and plundered many times in the entire history of its existence, starting from the raids of the Crimean Tatars on our lands. In the church, the landowner Olenin is buried, on whose means it was restored and completed. From him, by the way, the Venevitinov-Olenin family went further. Next to him, also in the church, his wife Maria Olenina was buried. A few meters from the church is the former Olenins' estate, where, by the way, the poet Pushkin often stayed. Now the church is active, services are being held.

The temple was built in 1789 at the expense of the owner of the Olenin estate. In Soviet times it was closed and used as a warehouse. Now work is underway on the repair of the facade and landscaping. The territory of the church is fenced and closed. It was not possible to get inside.
