Great monastery with the great history. Vivid and interesting for all ages

Such a beautiful monastery. The singing while we were there was amazing. This is very much a must see.

Very interesting tour. The monastery, founded in the 1490s by the saint himself. Devastated during the Soviet era, now being restored by the newly faithful and the government as a UNESCO site. A very good museum full of retrieved and preserved icons from the churches. The site is very isolated and gives the visitor a sense of how vast Russia is and how isolated many communities are.

Blue sky day and an excellent English speaking guide. Be sure to enjoy the singing in a chamber with perfect acoustics.

The size and beauty of this Monastery by White lake can really truly only be appreciated in person.
