The Stone Intercession Church in the village of Chushevitsy, Verkhovazh region, began to be built in 1802. They closed the Intercession Church in 1918. At that time Vasily Smirnov and Alexei Spassky were priests. They were repressed in 1937 and sentenced to death. Bells from the temple were removed and sent along the Vahe River to Arkhangelsk to the Argun Plant. But the raft was in a whirlpool, it was turned over and the domes went to the bottom, and the escorts barely survived.
