Two separate temples of the Assumption parish are located on the very bank of the Sukhona River opposite Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. The summer temple is in honor of the Resurrection of Christ with a chapel in the meal in the name of St. Procopius and John the Ustyug miracle-workers, and in winter in honor of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos. Both temples are single-storied, stone. The Church of the Assumption is built in one connection with the bell tower and represents a bodyless and unfinished building. The bell tower, judging by the height and buttresses, was designed for a two-story church. The first three tiers are quadrilateral, and the top is octagonal. The lower tier of the bell tower, apparently old, is also decorated with baroque ornaments, the second and third are of later origin, rounded at the corners, with oval ornaments and ending with triangular tympanums. An extension, a stone pantry, adjoins to the north side of the bell tower, similar in detail (cornice) to the building of the Resurrection Church2. The case of the Assumption Church above the middle part has a wooden superstructure, covered with a dome, on which a spherical head is placed directly on the neck. The walls of the dining room and the quadrangular altar are rusticated. Summer Resurrection Church is more ancient, built in the style of early Baroque. The two-tier quadrangle of this temple is covered with a baroque dome, topped with a two-tier head, apparently of late origin. On the north side of the temple there are traces of a former annexe, and on the left near the new porch there is a casing from the old entrance to the pantry or to the bell tower. Obviously, in the past, the facade of the temple was completely different. Initially, on the site of the existing stone churches of the Assumption parish, a wooden church was built in the name of St. Dmitry Prilutsky, the Vologda wonderworker. On behalf of this church, the Steep Creek, which flows near it, received the name of Dmitrievsky. The first indication of the existence of this church is found in the postscript to the testament of the prep. Theodosius 15683.

A small but good exposure. Good tour. Be sure to climb the bell tower, the best view of Totma and Sukhona. There were winter before the new year, all around the snowdrifts, and the smell of the stove.

A good collection of church utensils, located inside the church building. Layouts of wooden churches, including lost ones, on the upper tiers, exhibitions of local artists are held. Great view from the bell tower over the river
