The temple of Simeon the Stylite in Veliky Ustyug is located on the embankment of the great Russian river Sukhona. The bank protection of the embankment itself goes on without stopping, a stone parapet is laid, but the walls of the church have not been subjected to restoration work for a long time. The majestic staircase leading to the upper church opens its arms, as if inviting its parishioners to perform the sacrament of worship. However, at the time of the visit, Wednesday, 06.26.19, a huge castle hung on the gate. The unusual architecture of the temple draws attention to it and successfully distinguishes the church from many other objects of the ancient city.
