Year of construction: 1552, is the oldest building in the city. As a model for the construction of the Assumption Church, the Assumption Cathedral of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was chosen. Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The Assumption Cathedral in Belozersk is the oldest among the temples of the city that have survived to our time. The first Assumption Cathedral was built in 1398 by a team of dregvels. Over time, dilapidated church, which has ceased to accommodate all parishioners, decided to rebuild. The new already much larger size of the cathedral building was also built of wood. But, this temple completely burned down during the terrible fire that occurred between 1462 and 1497 years.
