It is very beautiful here, the church is old, you can feel peace. There are many ancient monuments of merchants in the cemetery. But it's a pity that the church is being destroyed ...

For all its artistic value, it made a depressing impression on me personally. Too solemn and gloomy. After the simple and laconic churches of Pskov and Novgorod, there are too many things here - a lot of details, a lot of decorative elements, a lot of paint that looks like caked blood, it's too dark inside. The bell tower surprised - this is a well-fortified fortification without windows, without doors. With all this, of course, this is an unusual, beautiful, unique church.

An architectural monument of the XVII century, the stunning beauty and energy of the Temple. Will be in Ustyuzhna, by all means visit. The service schedule is posted and published in the VKontakte group. The church is located on the banks of the river Mologa. At the church there is a cemetery, on which only the graves of long-dead relatives are buried. The clerks of the church are affable, friendly and cultured, always ready to help.

The well-preserved church, the pride of Ustyuzhna, was built in 1694 with the money of the merchant Stroganov and is a model of the Naryshkin baroque. There were only five such "Stroganov" churches in Russia (the remaining four are in Solvychegodsk, Usolye and Nizhny Novgorod - two). Like other Stroganov temples, the Kazan Church is remarkable for white-stone patterns around the windows. Inside the fresco of the XVIII century. Next to it there is a tent belfry (1764-1767). The church is functioning, next to the church there is a city cemetery.
