Wooden churches in s. Kilcheng were built before the XVII century. At the beginning of the 19th century, a two-story stone church was built with two main altars consecrated in honor of the Life-giving Trinity (lower, warm temple) and Procopius of Ustyug (upper summer temple). The temple was decorated with wall paintings. During the years of theomachy, the temple was used to house the MTS. Beautiful wall paintings have repeatedly tried to destroy, forcing to cut them together with plaster. However, the local lime plaster was so durable that it was impossible to destroy the murals.
