One of the oldest temples in the Vologda region, the first cathedral of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese of the XIX century. It's amazing, but the temple life here did not stop either during the Second World War, or in Soviet times, uneasy for the church. It is believed that it was in this temple that a famous poet and playwright Joseph Nobel Prize winner Joseph Brodsky was baptized. The interior of the temple literally breathes history: murals and frescoes are carefully preserved by parish priests. The main chapel of the church is decorated with a triumphal arch in honor of the victories of the Russian army.

Back in the 17th century, in the village of Nosovskoe-Stefanovsky, 6 km from the present-day Cherepovets, a wooden church was built in the name of the parents of the Virgin Mary - the saints Joachim and Anna. In 1814, the church became a stone church, and not once in two centuries the building did not change its original purpose. Even in the 30s of the 20th century, during the most severe persecutions of the church, anyone could come and pray. At the same time, several liturgies were served here by the Archbishop of the Novgorod Diocese Alexy, who later became Patriarch Alexy the First. Permanent services in the church resumed in 1942. Since the day of construction of the stone church, 2 miraculous icons have been kept in it. One of them is the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God. The old-timers say that in one year there was a strong death of livestock throughout the district. She saved the prayer of the miraculous icon. The second icon of this temple, the appeal to which also works wonders, is the image of the holy Joachim and Anna. For two centuries in a row, she has been praying for relief from infertility. According to the rector of the church, Priest Valery Belov, prayer before this sacred image helps even those from whom both domestic and foreign medicine luminaries refused.
