The obelisk monument to the first Rzhev military commissar Vasily Vasilyevich Gratsinsky is a tombstone on his grave. On a tetrahedral base there is an obelisk made of black marble, at the foot is a slab with the inscription: "Remember October 1917-1918, the Years of the Great Struggle for Socialism." The obelisk was erected in 1918 in the Gratsinsky Park. V.V. (formerly Nikolsky Garden). Now it is in a depressing state, but renovation work is underway nearby, I hope that it will be reconstructed.

The monument is in average condition. The flower beds around are not well-groomed, just dug up. An information stand with a description of the life of Gratsinsky and the history of the appearance of the monument would not hurt.
