The history of the Kremlin was interrupted in 1740. To this day, only an earthen wall and a flat hill (with a high probability also of artificial origin) have survived where historical and thematic exhibitions and festivals are held. By and large, apart from the species views of the town from the height of the hill and the earthen wall, there is nothing worthy of attention here. The first mention of the fortress fortifications on the site of the Kremlin dates back to 1139. In 1238 the fortress of Torzhok two weeks restrained the siege of Batu. The assault was accompanied by a strong fire, in which the fortress was completely destroyed, and its construction began from scratch in the middle of the XIII century. After liberation from the Tatar yoke, the fortress lost its defensive significance and was used as a prison. Thus, in the 16th century, prisoners of the Crimean Tatars were kept here. Ivan Grozny, who was driving through Torzhok in 1569, ordered them all to be killed, which provoked an uprising in which the king almost died. Malyuta Skuratov's name is connected with the salvation of the king in that period. During the greatest development of the Torzhkovskaya fortress, the height of the walls reached 4 meters and a length of 1400 meters connecting 11 towers: Spasskaya Gate, Deaf, Petrovskaya, Water, Angular, Borisoglebskaya, Taynitskaya and others.

We got to the rehearsal of EASTER holiday, listened to the history of the holiday, danced, and then we had wonderful tour in the museum. We learned and saw the history of women's fashion and not only. The belt of fidelity for men and women in our time would be useful to some individuals. Guides girls are great, everything is interesting, informative and clear. Thank.

Handsomely. The cost is 50 rubles. You can shoot from a catapult, crossbow for an additional fee.

Archaeological site of the 9th-12th centuries. Free from buildings and vegetation. Cultural development is being carried out, including reconstruction elements without disturbing the cultural layer.
