James Church Borovichsky

Archimandrite Theodosius in 1670 asked the Metropolitan of Novgorod Pitirim to build a church in the name of St. James of Borovichi, since since 1654 the relics of the saint have been in the monastery, but there is no church in his name. A wooden temple was built, on the northeastern border of the monastery, in the garden. In 1700, the wooden church of Jacob Borovichsky with the hospital burned down and in its place in 1702 a stone church was built with hospital cells and a refectory. The hospital building and the refectory were originally apparently single-story. Subsequently, the second floor was completed.
