A terrible place around the monument, emphasizing the poverty of Russia and the wealth of the Russian Orthodox Church. Everything except the monument is in decline, and business is being done on everything with a motive for Orthodoxy, but not explicitly. It became hard on the soul there, hypocritical people were caught and in every possible way offered to buy unnecessary services, upsetting the peace of mind. This is not a holy place, I wasted my time on the trip. And this is my opinion, with which I am not going to offend believers. But you can't deceive your soul, and hypocrisy and lies are terrible sins. So here I shared my feelings with you in the name of a warning.

The monument stands in a picturesque place on the banks of the Volga. The flooded bell tower of the Nicholas Cathedral rises behind the monument. Venerable Macarius prays for our salvation. All this makes you think hard about our worldly existence.

Nice provincial town. Inexpensive antiques. You can drive to Uglich for 40 minutes. Boats go to the bell tower.

Small provincial town. If the authorities put it in order, restoration is needed, it would be a very nice town
