Church of the Dormition in Priseko

The village of Priseki is on the left bank of the Mologa River from Tver in 110, from Bezhetsk 10 versts. The two-story brick, later plastered, the church was built in 1793-1796 on the means of parishioners in the forms of baroque with elements of the uzorochya. Later, at the beginning of the XIX century, two upper tiers of the bell tower were built. Had four altars: in the upper cold temple - the main Assumption of Our Lady and the Holy Trinity; in the lower floor are warm - the Prophet Elias and Sergius of Radonezh. The temple is a two-lighted quadrilateral crowned with a decorative five-head, to which the apse with rounded corners adjoins from the east, and the refectory and four-tiered bell tower from the west. The decoration of the facades combines the motifs of the pre-Petrine architecture and the Naryshkin style. In the multi-tiered composition of the temple, two massive upper tiers-chetverik bell towers dominate in the forms of classicism. In the interior of the upper church, the painting executed in the early 1840s in the academic style was preserved, which was subsequently updated several times until the beginning of the 20th century. Parishioners in the village and neighboring 17 villages, as of 1914, according to the reference book on the Tver diocese, - 1,421 men and 1558 women. In Soviet times it is closed, ruined. Now the ground floor is adapted to the utility rooms of the residents of nearby houses, the upper one is abandoned. Children constantly climbed there) it is a pity that the church does not function anymore)
