The temple was built in 1748 on the site of a wooden church, which existed here from the first half of the 16th century. It was rebuilt in the middle of the XIX century, during which the onion domes were replaced by chapters in the form of “vases”, the facades were decorated with stucco molding. In Soviet times, the only church in Serpukhov continued to operate. In the middle of the 20th century, a second chapel was arranged in the name of the Icon of the Mother of God, “The Recovery of the Dead”.

The church itself is magnificent, but the priest who was there a year ago, repelled all desire to come there more.
