A two-story church in the St. Petersburg Baroque style, built in the 30s of the 18th century at the expense of Akinfiy Demidov. In the chapel attached to the temple is the family tomb of the Demidovs. The original frescoes of the temple were lost during the Soviet era. At the beginning of the 21st century, after the return of the temple to the church, the lower temple was re-painted. In the limit dedicated to the Royal Passion-bearers, you can see unique frescoes depicting the repressions suffered by the ministers of the church in the 30s of the 20th century. The upper temple is not available for visiting.

Quite inconspicuous outside, but bright inside the temple of the 18th century

Church in the name of the Nativity of Christ (Nicholas-Zaretsky) 1735 Armory Lane, d.12. The church was built according to the usual plan: the altar was located along the east-west line. This is a rectangular, in terms of a strongly elongated two-story building with a raised middle part. According to its architectural composition, which has a palace rather than a cult character, as well as its decorative decoration, the church belongs to the St. Petersburg baroque of the late XVII - early XVIII centuries. The bell tower, which once had a chime, differs in style from the temple. She kept the typical scheme for the Yaroslavl and Suzdal belfries of the 17th century, a pattern of a high pillar-shaped octagon on the quadruple of the base. The church was closed in 1934. For two days there was an open sack of the temple. At different times in the church were located: a granary; housing services; Warehouses part of the temple (the tomb of the Demidovs) was given for housing. Two families also lived in the lower tier of the bell tower. In 1999, on the eve of the feast of the Nativity of Christ, the temple was transferred to the Tula diocese.
