Uspenskiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor

The main cathedral of Tula. Black domes with golden crosses contrast beautifully with the red brick walls. The cathedral was built in the pseudo-Russian style according to the project of the architect E.V. Skavronsky. The consecration of the cathedral church took place on October 24, 1902. In 1909, it was artistically painted inside and partly outside. Among other murals, five beautiful subjects, brilliant works of V.M. Vasnetsov, which are exact copies of the painting in the Kiev Vladimir Cathedral. Among the rich wall paintings of the Assumption Cathedral, ornaments are especially distinguished by their originality and brightness of colors.
