beautiful autumn and a memorial place

The best place to visit on earth. It carries the soul of legendary russian writer leo Tolstoy. It covers up his birth, his life and his death !! It was a fascinating experience !!!

Wonderful to wander around the great writers home. Very informative guides and you can even see Tolstoys' bicycle!!

Beautiful huge country estate - should have taken a picnic! Paid for the tour (in Russian!) to see inside the houses.Saw people horse riding- wish I had known!! Nice public toilets near to houses. A lot of building work going on opposite side of road to the entrance - but also a new large car park! I arrived at 11am - glad I got there early as a lot busier as I was leaving around 2.30pm. 30min drive from Tula.

This is a very beautiful place to walk and take in nature and some Russian history. Russians pay less to enter the property than others. Unless you are part of a group they will not let you into various parts of the property like the house. It is very easy to spend several hours walking around and enjoying the day just enjoying nature. Highly recommended if you have some extra time to visit here and look around.
