Nice but no one knows English to guide you and nothing to read in English. Not all staff welcoming and polite! But some very helpful. Most of the rooms it was not allowed to take photos but some places you could and it was confusing.

Awesome place. Preserved the spirit of past centuries, the life of the famous Russian writer. Very pleasant and talented guides who immerse you with their stories in the days of Lev Nikolayevich, revealing interesting details of his life and work. Even in winter, this place attracts with its uniqueness and fascinates the silent silence of the paths that cross the entire estate.

The Kuzminsky wing is the only of the three buildings of the ensemble, which managed to maintain its original appearance. It was in it from 1859 to 1862 that the school of L.N. Tolstoy operated for peasant children. As you know, the Count himself gave lessons here, which was nonsense for the then world community. Later this outbuilding served as a guest house. Most often, the sister of Sofya Andreevna Tolstoy Tatyana Andreevna Kuzminskaya stayed with her family: the name of this guest gave the name to the previously unnamed outbuilding.
