... This is the only building left from the fortress of Ivan the Terrible. It was built from massive logs in literally one day, but was subsequently rebuilt several times. Despite the fact that the church was built "in haste", it is perfectly preserved to this day. The interior decoration remained practically unchanged: wide floorboards, massive doors, and benches made from a single piece of wood. Local residents claim that Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich himself loved to sit on one of them. Also preserved are wooden sculptures of the Savior and the Apostles and a rare carved iconostasis. Otherwise, the inside of the church looks quite ascetic and modest. Previously, its walls were decorated with icons, but at the moment they are all exhibited in the State Museum of Fine Arts ...

Not that it’s happier or calmer, as many say. Some kind of inner pleasant sensation of warmth and kindness. And so immediately I want to love and hug everyone. After such walks, you look at everything around differently. All the charm and beauty of this place cannot be described in words, it must be seen. In addition to the wonderful landscape, you will touch the rich history. Local guides will help you with this. On the territory there are entertainments for children, and places of rest for adults and national cuisine.

We went on an excursion to this island city. Loved it! This, you know, how to plunge into history ... Each piece of land is saturated with the spirit of the times. A great desire to return ... Definitely, I will still be there😊

The church is located near the old wooden church. Teretorii cleaned and clean. A beautiful willow near the entrance to the church once threw its braids and gives a nice shade. In the church there were works inside and it was ennobled. Very nice and quiet place. Great to visit !!!! Recommend.
