It was built by the dependency of the Elabuga merchant F.P. Girbasov “on the site of the former cathedral church”, with the mission “to be the burial vault at the current Spassky Cathedral”. A memorial plaque with the inscription: “Stone chapel. An architectural monument of the 19th century. ”A small centric building with beveled corners, raised to the basement and crowned with a tent on a light drum. Rizalits of wide faces emphasize the verticality of proportions. The brick facades are made in the “Russian-Byzantine style” - crowning kokoshniks, lobed archivolts, arcuate panels. The planes of the wide openings with a horseshoe-shaped jumper are highlighted with trapezoid pediments, the drum arches rest on whitewashed “capsules.” Clear plastic and intensive surface development increase the importance of the chapel in the square ensemble as a contrasting “bundle” between the cathedral complex and Kamashev’s house. From the site "Objects of cultural heritage" of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

An incredibly beautiful chapel, an architectural monument built in the Russian-Byzantine style, is the pearl of Yelabuga.
