Ленар Загидуллин (03/09/2018)
In March 2018, reconstruction began. When we arrived there, there were already scaffolding and a week as preparatory work was going on. This is how you live and you may not know that interesting historical events happened next to you, once famous people lived. I will attach a historical digression, it’s not written by me, but the essence is to let them know: The single-throne stone temple was built in 1841–1845. at the expense of the local landowner Sofya Nikolaevna Davydova, daughter of the famous military figure General Nikolai Andreevich Chirkov (1753-1806), the widow of the famous hero of World War II in 1812 and the poet Denis Vasilyevich Davydov (1784-1839). In memory of Denis Davydov, the church was consecrated in the name of his holy heavenly patron Saint Venerable Dionysius, Hegumen Glushitsky. The village of Chirkovo was the estate of D. Davydov, given to him as a dowry when he married the daughter of General Chirkov. At that time about 300 peasant serfs lived there, and there was also a distillery that brought Davydov a good income. On his estate Davydov repeatedly visited where he wrote his one of the last verses. Davydov was not able to participate in the battle of Borodino, but he became famous as a brave partisan. During the Civil War, the priest who served in that church was shot by the Bolsheviks and buried by the White Guards as a martyr. The Soviet authorities closed the temple, but did not dare to demolish it completely.
