Bogoroditskoe Field Memorial

The largest defeat of the Red Army in the war was the Vyazma cauldron, where a military grouping of more than half a million people ceased to exist. A place of memory and pain. The memorial is dedicated to the last days of the existence of the troops and the attempt to break through the encirclement, which took place on October 11, 1941. The Germans failed to contain the last desperate attack of the encircled and several thousand people were able to escape from the cauldron. The rest were waiting for death and captivity. The memorial complex includes mass graves where the searchers bury the found soldiers
