The Church of Our Lady of Kazan has a great history. In 1699, a wooden parish church was erected in its place. The construction of the stone church began in 1865 and was carried out with the active participation of the merchant Turgenev. In 1871, the church was consecrated in the name of the icon of the Kazan Mother of God.
