Church of St. John the Evangelist in Khavertovo. If you go in the direction of Ryazan from Mikhailov, it is impossible to take your eyes off the stunning views on the sides: hilly valleys stretch to the right and left. At the entrance to Poyarkovo (where in 1941 our troops drove out the Germans), on the right hand, there is a valley in the center of which there is a church with a high bell tower. It is simply unrealistic not to notice it. Huge in scale, it is the center of the entire landscape and looks extremely mesmerizing, since apart from a couple of houses at a decent distance, there is nothing else around. And it is not clear why this huge eclectic-style church spaceship with the discernible notes of Byzantine architecture is standing here at all. In general, when I started looking for information about this temple, I was surprised that there was nothing in general, although the temple is far from ordinary. The history of the village of Khavertovo also does not shine with details: the first mention was in 1794, the peasants lived, who owned it is not clear. Most sources claim that the temple was completed and illuminated in 1898. However, I found the opinion that the church building itself was built back in 1844. In the 1930s, the temple was closed. A collective farm was organized in Khavertovo and the premises were used for grain storage. During the Great Patriotic War there were battles here, but the church was not damaged. In 2010, the population of the village was 53 people. But, despite this, the locals gathered with the initiative to restore the temple, in which at that time there was nothing left but the floor tiles. And since 2011, the temple began to be gradually restored at the expense of local residents and the Ryazan diocese. As of September 2020, the restoration of the roof was completed, a dome was installed on the church building, and a dome on the bell tower was ordered. Antediluvian building. Well preserved. As well as all similar buildings, they are bombarded to the 2nd floor. Inside, window openings are visible, more precisely, only the upper part of the opening of the first floor. They started to restore.

The walls are intact. The temple is big. If you restore it will be beautiful and majestic.
