Nikolsky temple (ruinirovanny)

For several years, thoughts returned to the holy places in which they promised to return. Time has passed ... Again we visited the likeness of the peninsula in the Meshchersky side. The "Cape", washed by Svyatoye Lake, Dubovo Lake and the river Pra in the Shagara Lake, near the village of Droshino, preserved the skeleton of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Yalmont tract. The magnificent building was one of the few that was built in the Meshchera forests. The village of Yalmont is mentioned as a churchyard on the list from Vladimir Books of Prince Vasily Krapotkin in 1637. On the churchyard there were wooden churches of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and Paraskeva Friday. In the sentinel books for 1681, only one church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is mentioned in the village. The clergy of the local church lived in the village. There was also a parish school. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, instead of the wooden church burned down in 1890, the stone church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was rebuilt in the village, which was visited by parishioners from all nearby villages. In the 1930s, the temple was closed, the priest and deacon were repressed. By the end of the 20th century, the village was abandoned and destroyed. Now on the site of the village is only a dilapidated church. The remains of the houses of the old village engulfed the Meshchersky forests. But people are still drawn to a prayer place. The walls of the abandoned church are well-groomed, order reigns around. On neat shelves are icons, church books and candles. The walls have preserved icons and frescoes. Despite the 4-kilometer primer, washed out by rains, next to the temple is a well-groomed cemetery, where people are still buried. The place is quiet and comfortable. In addition to the rustling of leaves and a blow of wind from the lakes, nothing disturbed the peace of the holy tract. Therefore, I wanted to come back here and touch the shrine of the mighty walls.
