Church of the Savior's Transfiguration (Preobrazhenskaya) The church in Tsikul existed already at the beginning of the XVII century and was listed in patriarchal overhead books since 1628. The village of Tsikul with the Church of the Transfiguration in it was then written in the Volodimerskaya tithe of the patriarchal region. By the marks of the patriarchal government order, it can be concluded that in the 17th and 18th centuries the church was rebuilt twice. In 1644, "on the petition of Vasily Taneyev, a blessed letter was issued for two thrones: the Transfiguration of Spasov and Nikola the Miracle-Worker." In 1715 issued a decree on the consecration of the newly-built Church of the Transfiguration in Tsikula. What was the reason for such relatively frequent reconstructions of the church is unknown; can be fires, often destroying wooden churches, were to blame. In 1806, the Taneyev brothers, who lived amicably and maintained close relations, decided to erect a stone church in the village of Marinino Kovrovsky Uyezd, where the graves of their parents were located. By 1808, a single-domed stone church dedicated to the Protection of the Holy Virgin with a three-tiered brick bell tower was built.
