Have time to ponder in a suitable place

The stone church in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord with the chapels of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the icon of the Mother of God “The Burning Cupid” was built in 1736 at the expense of the merchant Ivan Grigoryevich Vyaznev on the site of a wooden church. On the donations of the merchant Lyutov in 1751 an iconostasis was built and the main church was painted. In 1768-1770, at the expense of the merchant Isidor Lelyukin, the refectory of the temple was expanded, placing the former chapels in it. A stone four-tier belfry was erected next to the temple; the territory was surrounded by a stone fence with a wrought-iron grate and gates from the western and northern sides. In 1792, the son of the priest of the Vvedensky church, Mikhail Glukharev, the future Rev. Makarii, enlightener of Altai, was baptized in the church. In 1922, all silver robes from icons and utensils were removed from the temple. In 1929, the temple was closed, and the bell tower was destroyed. From 1929 to 1992, the temple building was used by various organizations. In 1979-1980, the church was partially restored, and in 1992 returned to the Church. On the day of the Transfiguration of the Lord, on August 19, 1995, parishioners of the Vvedensky church came to Preobrazhensky, where the first prayer service was served after 65 years of oblivion.

A very beautiful church. There is a small bell tower nearby.

A very long restoration, but it’s getting better and better!
