Tikhon calmly soul rests
Любовь Жданова (10/26/2019)
The church is very bright, spacious. The fathers there are kind and sympathetic, and the women who work in the church are also always friendly. I like the parishioners in this church and many come. The temple is beautiful and clean.

Peace of mind, a prayer place

For me, this place is the best on earth. There peace, tranquility and spiritual warmth. A house in which my heart and soul come to life ...

In the eastern part of the city, on a hill, there is a two-story church of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos (1748-1749) with a four-tiered bell tower (1763). the throne of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos was consecrated, and on the second floor - the throne in the name of the Epiphany. The church was built in the form of "Naryshkin Baroque". Naryshkin Baroque determined the tiered composition of the temple and the elegant decor that has survived to this day. In 1792, in the family of the rector of the church, Fr. Jacob Glukharev, St. Macarius, future Altai missionary. In the 1930s, Bishop Pavel (Troitsky) of Vyazma, who was shot in 1937, served here. In 1922-1935, the cathedral housed the pulpit of Bishop Vyazemsky, but shortly before the Great Patriotic War, the Vvedenskaya church was closed. The lower floor was transferred to a museum, and the upper one - to a collective farm school. The Vvedenskaya church was badly damaged during the battles with the French in 1812, but two years later it was restored and the divine service in the temple was resumed. By the middle of the 19th century, the temple, located in the richest part of the city, became cramped and did not accommodate all parishioners on major holidays. Therefore, in 1862, a two-storey stone side-altar with thrones in honor of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk and the Monk Tikhon of Kaluga was added to the temple on the north side. This annex is more modest in design than the main temple, however, decorative wrought iron gratings attract attention. In the 30s of the XX century, the temple was closed, the street was renamed into the Paris Commune. During the Great Patriotic War, the temple was almost not damaged. But after the war, local authorities set up a carpentry workshop there, and a builders' club was opened on the second floor. The area around the temple was badly damaged. A substation was built on the site of the graves of the ancient church cemetery. In the late 70s of the XX century, the church was repaired, and again transferred to the youth center at the city committee of the Komsomol. Discos, youth evenings began to be held in the temple, and video films were shown. This was the end of the struggle against religion in Vyazma. In March 1992, the Vvedensky Church was among the first to be returned to the Smolensk diocese. The service in the temple began in 1994. The townspeople again brought here by a miracle saved icons and church utensils.
