Magnificent Church! Very well preserved and centuries old! The stone church was built in 1821 by the titular councilor Grigory Nechaev with the help of volunteer donors. There are three thrones in the church. In addition to the main altar in the southern side-altar, there was the All Saints' throne, in the northern side-altar of the Holy Primate Apostles Peter and Paul, which by 1857 had not yet been consecrated. In 1881, a stone sacristy was added to the church, at the same time the iconostasis was renewed, the walls of the church were painted, all work was carried out under the supervision of Abbess Palladia using voluntary donations from parishioners. The bell tower was also made of stone, there were seven bells on it. The largest one had a weight of 150 p., According to the inscription on it, was cast in Yaroslavl on November 6, 1842 with money from the Velikie Luki merchant Mikhail Savich Glodovsky. The second bell by weight was made in Moscow by Nikolai Samgin, it had a weight of 45 p. The third bell was 4 p. With the inscription "Samgin"; 4th - weighing 1 p., 5th, 6th, 7th small bells had no inscriptions and no indication of weight. Divine services were performed only on a temple holiday. Every year there were two processions of the cross from the city's Resurrection Cathedral: in the week of All Saints; 8 (21) July, the day of the celebration of the appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. In July 1916, Bishop Eusebius of Pskov and Porkhov visited the church with a pastoral visit. There was no clerk in the church, services were performed by the clerk of the Resurrection Cathedral. The service in the church was performed on Sundays and holidays. From what time the church was assigned to the Resurrection Cathedral is not established, in the statement of 1857 it is shown as a registered one. From 1876 onwards, the church is shown as attributed to the Ascension Monastery. Divine services began to be performed by the priest of the Ascension Cathedral of the monastery. In 1910, nun Apollinaria was the treasurer of the Ascension Monastery. During the years of Soviet power - a functioning church. In 1942-1943. was destroyed, but by the end of 1945, the residents of Great Britain, under the leadership of the rector of the church, Archpriest Pavel Makarovsky, restored it. The church is active, the Peter and Paul throne has not been preserved. At the Kazan cemetery there are graves: abbess of the Ascension Monastery, Abbess Lyudmila; Professor of the Marine Academy Nikolai Nikanorovich Tyrtov, whose students were A.F. Mozhaisky, academician A.N. Krylov, commander of the cruiser Varyag Rudnev; noblemen Nepeitsyn, Ratmanov and many other noblemen, merchants, bourgeoisie, who left their mark on the history of Russia, Pskov region and hometown. During the Civil War, people who were objectionable to the new government, including priests, were shot at the cemetery.
