Tserkov' Nikoly So Usokhi

The very interesting history and architecture of this church is a godsend for a visiting tourist. It's very nice inside the temple - nice and cozy.

Very old church. Prayed place. House of God. There are a lot of icons, among which is the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary All-Tsaritsa, which for us has become Miracle-working. Always responsive people who work there. After being in the church, grace and peace are felt in the soul.

For the first time, a stone church on present Sovetskaya Street appeared in 1371. It got its name in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The second part of the name came from the location - in the 14th century there was the edge of the swamp, called by the Pskovs “shrinkage”. Unfortunately, in its original form the church did not reach us, in the 16th century it was badly damaged by fire, as a result of which it was demolished in 1535. A year later, a new church appeared in its place, inferior in size except to the Trinity Cathedral.

The Church of St. Nicholas from Usohi is being revived thanks to the efforts of the parishioners and the rector Alexander. Hopefully we'll see it in all its glory.

Ancient walls revived to life. Quiet and calm temple, inside of which you feel the breath of history.
