Oh, this is a holy, prayed place. Previously, the secretary brothers Leonid and Grigory served in it. They served here for 30 years, until their brother, the abbot of the Pskov-Caves Monastery Tikhon, died in 2019. The Kingdom of Heaven! Due to church hype, in my opinion, they were deliberately sent in different directions. Father Leonid in the village. Mala, and father Grigory in the village. Panikovichi. May God give them good luck!

The Church of the Forty Martyrs appeared in 1540. It was at that time that the architectural structure, made entirely of wood, was transferred from the Pskov-Pechersky monastery to Pechory itself

In 1540, the wooden church of the Forty Martyrs was transferred from the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery to the town of Pechory to the visiting courtyard. By the end of the 18th century, this church was dilapidated and in 1778 a decision was made to begin construction of a new stone church in the name of the Forty Martyrs at that place. In 1817, the construction of a new church was completed, but without a bell tower. The bell tower was built in 1860. In this temple wonderful priests serve. If someone likes quiet services, then there they are. The monastery is always crowded, and there it is very cozy.

Date of construction: Between 1817 and 1860. The forty Sebastian martyrs are Christian warriors who were martyred for their faith in Christ in Sevasia (Lesser Armenia, present-day Turkey) in the year 320 under Licinius. In 1540, the wooden church of the Forty Martyrs was transferred from the Pskovo-Pechersky Monastery in the town of Pechora to a foreign court. It is known that by the end of the 18th century this church had become very dilapidated and in 1778 it was decided to start building a new stone church in the name of forty martyrs at that place. In 1817, the construction of a new church was completed, but without a bell tower. The bell tower was built in 1860. The Church of the Forty Martyrs is located to the south-west of the Pechora Fortress, on a small square formed at the main entrance to the fortress, between the temple and the fortress - the wooden church of Barbara. An octagon-type church on a quadrangle, in its plan, is a distinct axial-axial composition. A semi-cylinder of the apse adjoins the main volume, bearing an octagon with a decorative drum and a head, from the east, a rectangular refectory in the plan and a three-tiered square bell tower in the west. The cross ends of the cross are shortened and rounded. The volume-spatial composition characterizes the desire for verticalism. The church is modestly decorated. The facades of the main volume, apse, refectory and belltower have planar processing by pilasters of the order system. A profiled cornice runs along the top of the walls. Window openings quadrangular and vestibule with arched lintels and platbands in the form of flat frames, repeating the shape of the windows. Window openings octagon with arched lintels, above them - lobed sandriks. A decorative octagon drum completes the head of a semi-spherical shape, topped with an apple and a cross. The octagonal dome of the bell tower ends with a thin spire with an apple and a metal cross. Chetverik - chetyrehstolpny, pillars square in plan, offset in pairs to the south and north. The overlapping of the interior is complex: the pillars bear the arches, which in turn, as well as the eastern and western octagon walls, sailing vaults and vaults of the lateral parts of the main volume. The octagon, with six window openings, is covered with an octahedral close arch. On the western wall, above the door, choirs are arranged on a creeping arch, two wooden stairs lead to them. The central apse is overlapped with a conch, and above the altar is a vault of coves, small apses with covoric vaults. The refectory is covered by a semi-pond arch with strips above the window openings. The overlap between the tiers of the bell tower is flat. At the northern wall of the first tier stairs leading to the tier tier. The material is brick, the building is plastered and whitewashed. Main dimensions: 35 x 18 m. In the church, the interior of the XIX century was mainly preserved.
