Tserkov' Nikolaya Chudotvortsa Na Truvorovom Gorodishche

The current St. Nicholas Church stands on the site of a more ancient temple. Crosses from the local slab are embedded in the walls of the St. Nicholas Church, one of which is inscribed in a circle to the left of the entrance. Perhaps the crosses dating back to the 15th-16th centuries fell into the walls of the church in the 17th century.

The beautiful old Church is located on the high hill of the Truvorovo hillfort and can be seen from afar on the vast expanse of Izborskaya hollow. It is believed that the temple was built in the 17th century. The temple is laid out of a limestone slab, which was plastered and whitewashed. Church floors are made of stone. Interior interior did not reach our time.

The peculiarity of the church is narrow vertical grooves on the north and south walls, reaching up to 2/3 of the height. Their appointment is not clear. In the walls of the church old crosses made of plates are embedded - mortgage crosses.

A very ancient temple, located on the hill of Truvorov settlement. Very well preserved. True, the walls are completely white, without painting. But this does not diminish its value in the least. Presumably it was built in the 17th century on the basis of an earlier building (most likely on the basis of the Nikolsky Monastery). Later the temple became a parish church.
