We wanted to visit, but already in the second visit it was closed and it seems to be no longer working! It is very strange since the object outside deserves a visit and attention from tourists.

The church in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh and Nikandr Pskovsky is being built on the territory of the Izborsk fortress after Pskov joined Moscow in 1510. In one of the fires, a wooden church burned down and it was decided to build a new stone church outside the fortress. The exact time of the erection is unknown. The inscription board in the wall of the temple indicates 1611, but many researchers believe that the church was built in 1755 or 1765. The church had its own parish and priest. In 1831, was assigned to St. Nicholas Cathedral. In Soviet times, services were held until 1961. Architecturally, the church is very simple - it resembles a residential building with a gable roof. The two-span belfry and the gates of the church fence are interesting. The church has a museum of petroglyphs.
