Tserkov' Pokrova Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy.

The village of Podgornoye is a Cossack settlement, founded in 1742 in October along the Ural River, and served as the southern fort post of the Russian Empire. Imperial people came here and fierce battles with the peasant army of Yemelyan Pugachev took place here. There are only a few kilometers to Kazakhstan. In the village itself, life is still boiling, but there are already collapsing houses. There are only four streets in Podgorny, on the central one stands the Intercession Church. It was built in 1898 from wood, and until the end of the 20th century was operational. Later it was closed, and to this day the church is abandoned. Birds make nests on the roof, and locals put icons in one of the rooms.
