Starorussky Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery

A wonderful museum with an observation deck. The 11th century cathedral even has the remains of ancient frescoes. I highly recommend visiting.

Nice exposition of archeology. Medieval archeology is presented. Items are categorized: leather, birch bark, etc. The rest in the museum is the history of the monastery, which is presented horribly in the 20th century: grandmother's mat, grandfather's chest, etc.

The Church of the Presentation belongs to the 17th century. Old Novgorod ornament in the form of triangles.

Impressions were positive! Of course, it gives a special perception about the history of Staraya Russa, the fact that the museum is located within the walls of the former Transfiguration Monastery. Special thanks to the guide Marina, for an interesting excursion and a detailed story. It is interesting when you see and listen to the story of a historian. The climb to the observation deck of the monastery added interest.

Old former monastery. Ancient land building. Causes respect and spiritual trepidation. Unfortunately it was too late and did not get inside the museum. In the next visit, be sure to visit the museum.
