Hotel of the old fund. It is being repaired, but apparently not quickly, in parts. Most likely depends on the budget allocated by the city. The staff we talked to are nice, helpful women. Thanks to them. I lived in an unrepaired room. But! There were no unpleasant odors or insects in the room. The sleeping place is comfortable, the bed is clean, the plumbing is clean, the room is clean. What else do you need when you come to get acquainted with the city and its surroundings and are tired by the evening? Shower, normal bed and order. All this was for 1,300 rubles. My friend and I are happy. She had exactly the same number next door. Stayed on August 1-2, 2020.

Valdai itself is an ordinary, very old district town. The service is so-so. Hotels like "Back in USSR" of the late 80s, but moderately clean and without cockroaches; in general, for lovers of nostalgia - the most it. There are a number of museums, but I have not been there. Several good cafes without any pretensions, I recommend the Bavaria cafe and the cafe on the waterfront. Of course, the Orthodox Iversky Monastery is a very important place for believers. But if I went a second time, it would only be with a tent to the shore of one of the lakes. Very beautiful nature, clean air, there is a well-developed tour trail.

We stopped to spend the night, take a shower. Everything is clean, but of Soviet times. The telly is working. There is internet. The beds are new !!! Sleep comfortable! The staff is friendly!
