Impressive place. The Vvedenskaya church is located on the top of the mountain and is visible from afar. From ancient times on this place there was a wooden Vvedensky temple. In 1769, instead of a wooden church, a stone three-table was built and, like the wooden forerunner, was dedicated to the introduction of the Mother of God into the church, and the chapel of St. John the Baptist and the Great Martyr Catherine. According to legend, Catherine II, returning from her coronation in Moscow, rested in the Bronnitskiy Travel Palace and ascended to the mountain with which she "looked at Novgorod, dotted with many monasteries and churches" and allegedly ordered the construction of a temple in the name of the Great Martyr Catherine on the mountain. During 1828-1832 gg the building of the church was completely rebuilt according to a draft drawn up in 1826 by J.Maksimovich and handed over to the well-known architect V.P. Stasov. In redesigning the VP Stasov retained the walls, laid a number of niches, strengthened them and leveled the inner pillars, added two Doric porticoes. The building finished with a dome on a faceted drum, and the bell tower was crowned with a spire 15 m high. In general, the temple after the reconstruction thanks to the porticoes acquired a monumental appearance with a rather modest size of 26.3 m long and 19.1 m wide. The restructuring was carried out on the money of the Economic Committee of the military settlements. Near the temple under the mountain was arranged a parade ground for military constructions. Until 1874 the church was under the jurisdiction of the military department. In 1972, the restoration of the monument under the project of architect LAAshimikhina was carried out at the expense of the All-Union Society for the Preservation of Monuments. Now the ruins. Sadly, that is not restored.

I would very much hope that the church will survive to the reconstruction
