Great museum, great exposure. It is also interesting because it consists of personal collections of collectors, considering collections, you can study not only the artists represented, but also the cravings of collectors, among whom there are many no less interesting personalities than the artists themselves.

The museum of personal collections was opened on January 24, 1994 in the left wing of the Golitsyns estate of the 17th-19th centuries (Volkhonka, 14) with access to Kolymazhny Lane. In the spring of 2005, a new building was created for the museum (Volkhonka, 10), consisting of three buildings connected by an atrium over the former passage and overlooking Volkhonka. As part of the Museum Town project, the next building in this line - the house of E. E. Rinkevich (Volkhonka St., 8, buildings 3-6) was also given to the museum. In April 2014, the opening day of the exhibition was the grand opening of the Rinkevich house after a long reconstruction. The exhibition area of the museum increased by 780 square meters.

It is invariably cozy, interesting, saturated with impressions, emotions, knowledge. There are always interesting exhibitions, unexpected exhibits. Spacious, comfortable, large wardrobe. There are no queues. Excellent ventilation. There is a lift. Small cafe. There are no parking lots nearby, so it is better to land satellites and look for a place on Malaya Znamenka, for example.

Despite the fact that the people are much smaller than in the main museum, the department of private collections seemed to me more comfortable and lamp-like than the main museum. Plus, the exhibitions (maybe it just so coincided) often turned out to be not so cool - they were incredible. Definitely a place worth visiting without any hesitation.
