Museum-house of the writer Maxim Gorky

It is NOT a place you would say " oh my God, it was amazing." It's his last place of accommodation in Nizhny Novgorod, there is NO AUDIO GUIDE, nor any tour guide. You are given a 4 page booklet that describes the rooms. Sitting outside in the small garden of this home and reading articles online was more informative than the museum itself. Apparently there is another museum of Gorky, perhaps that one has more information.

One of the Maxim Gorky's houses in Nizhny Novgorod is an interesting place to visit and you can get a feel for how Gorky lived and worked in the house. The house is very preserved and the nice decor, beautiful stained class, interesting window frames, book shelf, furnitures, staircases and all kinds decorative touches. We visited on a Sunday morning and there are notes in English. These are of good quality tour and it is certainly worth the price of the photography ticket. Must see this.

An excellent museum, I highly recommend visiting it. Inside there are two floors, the upper one is completely Gorky’s apartment. My special plus to this place is reusable slippers for visitors, not hellish disposable shoe covers !!
