Nizhegorodskiy Gosudarstvennyy Khudozhestvennyy Muzey

This museum has an extensive collection of Russian and Soviet art. Really famous artists are represented here. It is definitely worth a visit.

Gd art museum located inside the kremlin area, too bad not many ppl visited it during the world cup 2018 due to the tight security measures as the museum staff has to accompany any vistor in or out that includes a 3-4mins walk from entry pt to the museum location. The art paintings are worth to have your time spent there. So do visit it. Only let down is they should have audio guides to explain more of its history especially in English language.

Very nice quantity of paints showing various periods of Russian and European art. I recommend the guided tour, as it provides a much better perspective of the value and signification of the main paints showed.

Rich in collection

The Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum is currently closed to the public. The building of the museum in the Kremlin is closed for repair and restoration work until 2021. The building of the museum at 3, Verkhne-Volzhskaya embankment is closed until November 2020 due to re-exposure.
