Aerodrom Korzunovo

The field airfield Luostari, from which less than 100 kilometers of flight to Murmansk and Severomorsk, was commissioned by the Nazis in the early spring of 1942. After the war, it was renamed Korzunovo (Chugunka's call sign) and turned into an outpost of Soviet aviation, which confronted NATO kites during the Cold War, to Norway from here is 16 kilometers or less than two minutes of flight. In the period from 1957 to 1959, the legendary Yuri Gagarin served as the pilot of the 169th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 122nd Fighter Aviation Division of the Northern Fleet. Now the airfield is abandoned, but the runway is still in good condition, the entrance is free, but preferably by car with good ground clearance.
