PwC appeared as a result of the merger of two networks of firms - Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand - the history of each of them has about 150 years. Below are the main stages of development of both firms: 1849 - Samuel Loeul Price opens a company in London 1854 - William Cooper opens his own company in London, which seven years later takes the name Cooper Brothers 1913 - The predecessor Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte opens an office in St. Petersburg 1916 - Price Waterhouse opens an office in Petrograd 1957 - Cooper Brothers & Co (Great Britain), McDonald, Currie & Co (Canada) and Lybrand, Ross Bros & Montgomery (USA) merge and create Coopers & Lybrand 1982 - An international network of firms Price Waterhouse is created. 1989 - Price Waterhouse opens a representative office in Moscow
