I want to share the visit on 07/04/20. the periodical hall of the Murmansk Scientific Library. I took the subscription of the newspapers, TRUTH and Izvestia, for 1972,1973 and 1974, but did not find what I was looking for. When I asked for the subscription of the newspaper SOVIET RUSSIA for the same years , the librarian refused me, saying that the newspaper was written off, and it wasn’t available. I doubted this, I asked for a control copy, but the library worker said, confused, that there may be an electronic version on the third floor, but it’s also there QUESTION: Why is there no newspaper “SOVIET RUSSIA” in the central library of the region? It seems that from the people's memory, on the orders from above, the authorities decided to eradicate everything SOVIET or related. And this is a huge period of our HISTORY OF THE COUNTRY when industrialization took place , the development of virgin land, man first stepped into space, etc. The most important thing is precisely the SOVIET AUTHORITY was the organizing and guiding FORCE in the fight against fascism and the SOVIET PEOPLE was saved from fascist enslavement and retained their RUSSIAN originality and culture turu. Thus, the significance of that SOVIET PERIOD can and should be talked about endlessly ... I ask the library management to provide me with the newspaper SOVIET RUSSIA.

I love this place for a pleasant atmosphere. A large number of books, a permanent update in the subscription, but, as usual, there is not enough funding and a lot of where there is no repair.

Regional Scientific Library of the city of Murmansk. Great library. You can always find what you need for scientific work or just to read for the development itself. Convenient reading rooms. It is possible to take a photocopy. Near the building there is parking. Very cozy square with benches. Bus stop. The library is within walking distance of Five Corners Square.
